[Fed-Talk] Apple in the Navy

List Community,

To clarify, Apple has a few thousand Macs in the Navy today including every hardware product we sell. The Naval Postgraduate School is running a 76 node Apple cluster as we speak. Of the Xserves that are sold to the Navy for use on subs, some are eligible to run OS X. Our largest customers are the NRL and the NAWC-China Lake of which each site has ~ 500-1,000 Macs installed. Our core install base is in the engineering, scientific, and research communities. We have customers in NSWC, NAWC, NUWC, NRL, NPS, ... the list goes on! Our cluster solutions and our Raid storage device are of much interest.

It is my responsibility to generate quotes and manage orders for Navy customers. Many of you may have met my teammate Bob Fimiani (email@hidden, 703-264-5149). If we may be of assistance, please respond off-list. Thanks for your support!
