Attached please find a message sent to me recently
requesting information concerning Mac usage. Please realize even though
I use both a classified and an unclassified Mac, I am no where near to
being as advanced a user as all of you on this e-mail list. Since this is Father
Nick's first attempt at using a Mac, I don't want to answer incorrectly.
Therefore, would appreciate it if one of you could offer him some Mac
advice.
Thank you in advance for your time, assistance, and
expertise.

Sent: Friday, April 07, 2006 9:38 PM Good evening, Barbara, I love my Mac but I must say I’m getting very frustrated trying to preview files in the “open” dialog box. As you scroll down you can see what’s in each file without first opening it up. Do you know how to preview a file without opening 15 or 20 of them individually? If you do, I’d love to talk to you about it. I’ve tried the “finder” at the bar at the bottom of the page. I’ve tried “Project Gallery” in the “File” dropdown menu. I’ve tried saving a preview file with the main document. All to no avail! In all other ways it’s very user friendly, except in this one regard. Could you put me in touch with your computer friends? Or ask them the question themselves. The only way I’m coping with the problem is typing the exact file name at the bottom each document, but that still doesn’t help me if I don’t have the hard copy. Alas! Blessings, Father Nick |
