I forgot to add if you feel like compiling it yourself (until neooffice
folks post an intel version) you'll need to:

download and install the latest Xcode dmg
download the source from neooffice and follow their excellent instructions.

you'll need 15GB of disk space for the compile and package build.

if you want to use Java 5 instead of java 1.4 then skip the part about the
preferences change in the build instructions and modify the following the
following files:
 

in $NEOHOME/neojava:

source/xmerge/java/org/openoffice/xmerge/ConvertData.java
source/xmerge/java/org/openoffice/xmerge/converter/xml/xslt/DocumentDeserial
izerImpl.java
source/xmerge/java/org/openoffice/xmerge/converter/xml/xslt/PluginFactoryImp
l.java

change all references to enum to enum_ele (or something similar). enum is a
reserved word in Java 5.0.

then start the compile as normal. it will probably take about 24 hours to
compile and you will need internet access during the compilation.
