Apple1s Backup software has been updated to version 3.1.1 as of Mach
01,
2007 and is available for download
<http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/backup311.html> from Apple1s
Web
site. It1s a free update.

Backup is utility software application offered to users of Apple1s
subscription-based known as 3.Mac 3 service.
It enables you to back up important files; using either your .Mac1s
iDisk or
local media, including hard drives, CDs or DVDs.
An active .Mac account is the gateway for Backup to work.

New features in the 3.1.1 update include improvements to backup and
restore
w/ utilizing external hard disk drives, enhanced memory management , and
better restore of bundled file types.

System requirements:
Max OSX v10.3.9 or later
Mac OSX v10.4.2 or later

I never had any problems with the first one (3.1).... it is kind of slow
with large back ups, but does it's job well... and when it comes to
backup I
always hesitate to fix what isn't broken... I know the first Backup 3
has
lots of problems with restoring... so once someone installs please let
me
know if you find any issues... is it worth the upgrade? The only thing
apple could improve upon is speed.... but fortunately I do not have to
recover often.
