Title: Mighty Mouse Right-Click causes Finder restart?

Hopefully someone will have a solution or explanation for this...

Not all the time, but occasionally, one of my users (MacBook Pro Core 2 (2.33) Duo, 2GB RAM, OS 10.4.9 will right click on a file or item in the finder and all of the icons/drives/servers on his desktop will disappear and finder windows will close. Then all the icons will reappear (but the finder windows will not, if there was a open window).

Has anyone seen this — and more importantly, what is the fix for this annoying behavior?
