[Fed-Talk] ActivIdentity USB dongle with PPTP VPN - Mac OS X 10.5.5 - Patch 1.1 - "No Certificates Found"

Hi all,

I am attempting to use my ActivIdentity dongle to access my VPN. I have Mac OS X 10.5.5, with (CAC) Smart Card Services patch 1.1 from Shawn Geddis. It worked for about a month, until I was forced to renew my certificate. Now there are major problems.

Unfortunately, it is giving me an error that says "No Certificates Found: Your keychain does not contain any usable certificates". The USB key works fine on Windows XP with ActivCard Gold or with the ActivClient on Vista.

I have tried renewing my certificate several times both by erasing and reformatting the token, as well as by just refreshing it.

After each time, Windows VPN with ActivClient on Vista, or ActiveCard Gold on XP works just fine, but the Mac VPN settings says "No Certificates Found". I have looked in the keychain, and here is the weird thing: it's empty!

But after booting VMWARE or Parallels, the keychain viewer shows the certificate in the smart card keychain.

I have tried to download version 1.2 of the patch (thinking that the patch might help) from Shawn Geddis's iDisk account, but keep getting asked for a password that I do not know.

Please advise. I leave on a trip overseas soon and would love to have this working before then.

Thanks!

Best Regards,
Eric
