OpenMP on MAC G5 doesn't work

Fortran folks,

I'm porting some (long-running) OpenMP Fortran 77 code
onto a MAC G5. I compile and run in serial mode just fine.
I get the exact same answers when compiling and running with
OpenMP (-qsmp=omp) on 1 processor. However on 2 processors
I get drastically different answers, something is wrong.
Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.
Again the code runs fine on other SMP platforms.

Note I'm using xlf77_r.
