Please describe what happens when it doesn't run. Is there an alert? A
dialog? Anything in Console.app?
Java Preferences requires J2SE 5.0 installed in order to run. If you have
that, it should run; without it, it won't. If J2SE 5.0 is installed and
it's not running, it's unlikely that changing a plist file will make it run.
