I agree enough that I wrote my own normalizer just to do NFC. The code is available in XOM. http://www.xom.nu/ It's not exposed directly in the public API, but XOM is published under the LGPL so you can copy and paste and modify the code into your own free-as-in-speech application if you like (or negotiate with me for a different license). Bug reports are appreciated. I'm not convinced I'm properly handling all cases,but I haven't been able to make it fail myself.
