Sorry it doesn't have to do with Java development. I am not big Mac
user, only use it to test Java application. I was hoping someone could
tell me what to do otherwise I have try Apple's customer service.

0) What does this have to do with Java development?
1) Are you sure the DVD you are using is the one that came with the
system?
2) Does that DVD look damaged?
3) Can you mount that DVD in any other system you have available to
verify it isn't damaged?
4) If you can still boot into XP can you see that DVD (or any CD/DVD)
for that matter? (disc drive may be having issues).
