Please be gentle, we actaully develop on windows and use linux as well, but
we not Mac users.
We just trying to make our software friendly to all users...
A I'm discovering, each OS in itself is a work of art, but from different
planets... ha ha
OK... another question
We are (on a windows box) are now generating MacApps.app... very cool
actually.
Now imagine this.... we have this smart executable Jar, lets just call it
InstallerLite.
In a Jar resource we have a complete MacApp...
The user has this InstallerLite.jar and double clicks on it...
It says... do you want a MACIFIED version of me... they say yes.
The Jar extracts the MacApp and now want to write it somewhere...
+ From the sounds of things it doesnt really matter where it puts it...
somewhere in the /user/folder
I imagine... and then SOMEHOW? the Mac now knows this is an application and
picks up on the
file associations.... and it just appears in the mac menu's and filetype
associated with it get the icons
and.... ???
Will that work... why will it work?
Yeah I know... get a real machine ha ha...
I cant understand how the Mac detects these MacApps when they made... thanks
