I just tried this (or a variant of this) with Safari, Camino, and
Firefox (on Leopard) with a Java server. Safari is OK with multiple
CNs in the cert, and you can use any of the names to connect to the
service. Opera and Camino and Firefox, however, only seem to see the
last commonName used. I tried to try subjectAltName, too, but the
OpenSSL on Leopard can't generate certs with
"subjectAltName=dirname:foo" extensions.
