applet-servlet in Mac

We have developed an application using applet-servlet communication. It works
fine in IE 5.5 and Netscape 4.7 , but seems to have some problem in Mac. The
applet freezes when it is loaded (when it is painting a gif image).

Has anyone faced similar problems? any suggestions ?
