Re: EJB on X

For Weblogic I tried using the Linux, Solaris, and HPUX installers on X.
None worked... I'm not sure why as the install is based on InstallAnywhere.
I tried to modify the install scripts of each, but failed. (I'm sure at
better script person than I could fix it)

Finally I installed the solaris version under Solaris, created a tar ball of
the bea folder and moved it to MacOS X. That worked like a charm. Just fix
the path dependent parts in bea/wlserver6.1/config/<your server name> - the
scripts you will need to modify are all the startXXX.sh

It will start with a missing shared library XXX but will work.

I'm not sure why the install fails as NetBeans, PointBase, and MagicDraw all
install via InstallAnywhere without issue under MacOS X. (other than the
"standard" MacOS X specific Swing display bugs - I would love to see these
fixed)

One thing to note is the either because of MacOS X Java bugs or IE 5.1 bugs
the admin console for Weblogic does not work quite correctly. There are some
severe update/display issues.

Cheers,
Dirk
