It is a comercial app but has a free developer license. Everyone I have
talked to ethat has used Orion has been very happy with it. Also, it is a
full J2EE implementation, whereas JBoss is an EJB implementation...
(actually JBoss can be had with Tomcat and so be full J2EE too I think).

My experience with jBoss has been mixed. It seems to be in a state right now
where the team is working on a rewrite for the next version and simply
leaving some of the bugs in the "old" stable version. JBoss is definitly
cool, but orionserver may be a little ahead of it right now.

I've installed orion on OS X and it seems to work fine. Haven't put it
through too much though.
