I was going to resuggest we have a FAQ with pointers to Swing and the Collections API for "Classic MRJ" at Sun, but who'd've thunk to grab an installer [for Swing] from a project entitled:
"JMRI: A Java Model Railroad Interface"

Model railroader's do tend to be a little extreme. They were the original source of the term "hackers" in it's best form (c.f. http://tmrc.mit.edu/hackers-ref.html ), and still use a lot of high-tech stuff.

To bring this back on topic, there's also a link in that project to a collections.jar file for people who need it with Mac Classic MRJ:
