What is the correct, working way to change the properties, please? I believe this worked in 1.3.1. Certainly it does with MRJ 2.2.5, and JDK 1.4.1 on Windows.

That's definitely a bug, so please file it ASAP. Keep in mind that Applet Launcher uses the Java Plugin, not the default appletviewer used by /usr/bin/appletviewer, so behavior in one shouldn't automatically be assumed by the other. What property do you want to change/set? Perhaps using the Java Plugin Settings app will do what you want to do.
