I don't think it is reasonable to scale by CPU-clock as the very different architechtures means that the amount of work done in a clock cycle varies between them.

I have heard that a 500 MHz PowerPc should do the same as a 1 GHz x86 processor. Unfortunately, _that_ just makes your point even stronger :)

Oh, I develop web applications, where the GUI is completely irrelevant. My Apple is still comparatively slow.
