If the story really is an April 1 tale, April 1 came early this year: the story in question broke on Wednesday, March 31. The Lycos version (http://finance.lycos.com/qc/news/story.aspx?story=40981937) says "Google Inc. announced Wednesday" (that is, March 31), and the article itself has a timestamp of "31 March 2004, 8:18pm ET", which would be 5:18 PM Pacific Time (Google being based in California), which isn't April 1 by any reasonable interpretation. Should we now distrust things that *don't* happen on April 1?
