I suspect it does not support the full server vm now because of resource constraints on the Java team. If they see sufficient need, then they will consider it.

I strongly suggest putting together a few simple test cases that show radical performance differences between the client and server VM on windows, and file bugs with Apple showing how your real world tasks would be fixed if they implemented the true server vm.

I have filed such a bug myself, but more bugs, especially with code samples, will indicate interest among developers.

I do suggest including the industry, as Apple is interested in scientific computing right now, and so if this is a numerical app in an industry they are focussing on, it might be compelling.
