This list isn't a news-group; it's a mailing-list. Having a newsgroup
reader won't help you.

I suggest changing your subscription to receive the list-digest. You can
set this on your personalized list-subscription page. You should have
received the URL for this page, along with confirmation of your password,
when you subscribed.

Also, you can read recent list postings directly. I subscribe to
list-digests, and I frequently "look ahead" using the recent postings
web-page:
<http://lists.apple.com/mhonarc/java-dev/>

Follow the instructions in the authentication dialog that appears, or read
the list's FAQ page for more details.
