I have been pretty consistent about the updates and not installed any developer versions. I stick to the full releases. All I did was run the updater, open a terminal and type java -version (after the restart). My coworker is seeing the following (no restart yet) :
Syndi:~ modoc$ java -version
HotSpot not at correct virtual address. Sharing disabled.
java version "1.4.2_05"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_05-141.3)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2-38, mixed mode)
Which is more then I get (He is afraid to reboot at this point...)
