My coworker is seeing the following (no restart yet) :
Syndi:~ modoc$ java -version
HotSpot not at correct virtual address. Sharing disabled.
java version "1.4.2_05"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_05-141.3)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2-38, mixed mode)
Which is more then I get (He is afraid to reboot at this point...)
I think this is actually expected if your coworker has run the update,
but not rebooted yet. If my understanding of this message is correct,
Apple's VM sharing is turning itself off because the image of Hotspot
that is in memory no longer exactly matches the one that the VM being
launched wants to create. Seems to make sense if some of the system
libraries on which Hotspot depends have been updated.
I suspect this will go away when he reboots...
