Being explicit helps everyone. We know only what you tell us; if we have to guess, we may guess wrong. If we do, the answers you get may be confusing or just plain worthless. The more we know, the better help we can provide.

A fine example: had we known you'd already tried the correct syntax (and *exactly* what name you'd tried), we'd have been able to offer alternatives, instead of explaining to you things you already knew.
