It depends on the problem. The posts in question didn't do more than raise the *possibility* that 10.3.7 interfered with Java. No conclusive evidence was presented, and many people installed it with no problems at all. What problem are you seeing?

Have you already done the usual things: checked the disk, repaired permissions, installed with the "combo" updater? The 10.3.7 update doesn't appear to change Java-related files (with the sole exception of JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.3.1/Home/lib/security/java.security), so rerunning the Java update is unlikely to make things better.
