The other replys handle the setup. But i sounds to me as if there are
no execute permissions on the shell script.
Try adding execute privileges to the command:
chmod +x startup.sh

I'm not sure if this is the right forum or not. I'm new to the Mac
world and am trying to install Tomcat on my laptop for testing. I
have downloaded the .tar file and have unzipped it. The bin directory
contains startup.sh. I have opened a terminal window and navigated to
the tomcat bin directory and entered startup.sh. It says it can't
find the command. I followed the directions from the Apple/Tomcat
page on the developer connection. I know how to do this in Windows
but like I said, am new to the apple world. Can anyone let me know
what I'm doing wrong?
