Re: Alignment problem

I have just noticed, that there is a problem with the component alignment.
Run the following code. JLabel is displayed about 2 pixels higher than JRadioButton.

Apple has fixed a lot of insets and component bounds in 1.4.2.
This leads to improved alignment of font baselines for
many component combinations. It seems to me that the
label-radio button combination is well aligned in 1.4.2.

I provide an application that tests component states and
the alignment of font baselines, bounds and perceived
component bounds. See the 'State' and 'Align' tabs in
the JGoodies Looks Demo that you can download from
http://www.jgoodies.com/downloads/index.html

In addition, the JGoodies Forms Demo shows problems around
font baseline alignment when you combinea label with a text area
or editor pane. Click 'Building - Custom Rows' and '... Custom Areas'
in the Demo that you can download from the URL mentioned above.

On Windows and Solaris everything looks OK.

I won't say so for Windows if you are using Sun's Windows l&f
or the Java l&f. I provide two pages that point to screenshots
of the Looks Demo full of alignment problems and state bugs.
I used Windows with 96 dpi and 120 dpi using Sun's J2SE 1.4.2_03
and Sun's J2SE 1.5.0b32, see
