Re: Java 1.4.2 and Wacom tablets?

This sounds like something useful to have added to the AWT, as was done for mouse wheel events. Perhaps you can encourage Wacom to encourage Sun on the matter.

How does one work with the Wacom tablets with Apple Java? I've got a
Cintiq that I'd like to get pressure and tilt data from. Any pointers
would be appreciated. I know about JWacom, but that's X11-specific.

The only support we have for Wacom tables inside Java is that Inkwell
will generate input method events that will send the text written into
a Java text component. If you want any additional information about
what the user is doing on the pad you'll need to write a native library
to access the pad directly.

I don't know of any system-level mechanism for talking to the tablet.
You may want to contact DTS or Wacom for a developer kit. It's possible
there's an AppKit interface, but I'm not aware of any such thing.
