JWindow & MouseEvents

I have been trying to get a JWindow to fire off MOUSE_ENTERED events to little avail. Upon further testing, it looks like a JWindow, or any component contained within it, does not fire MOUSE_ENTERED, MOUSE_EXITED, or MOUSE_MOVED events reliably, if at all. If I change the same JWindow to a JFrame, everthing works fine. In fact, I tried changing to JFrame in Sun's "How to Write a Mouse Listener" tutorial (http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/events/ mouselistener.html) to a JWindow and the same problem occurs.

I am running the shipping version of Java 1.4.2 on Mac OS X 10.3.2. I have not had a chance to try this on a non-Mac system, so i am not sure if it is a Mac JVM problem or not.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Thanks,

Chris
