That being said. I have had problems with dialogs shown from modal
dialogs on all platforms. E.g. a help dialog launched from an input
dialog. Issues with focus and event processing are the main things.

I tend to just recreate them as it's not worth the hassle attempting
to fix focus problems across multiple JVM versions. At one point, one
was just asking for problems with a model dialog popping up over another
one, but I've not kept up with it in a while. How many focus redesigns
has Sun had now? Seems like they redefined 'modal' a couple of times
as well. IMO, use modal dialogs only when absolutely necessary...
