Hi,

can anybody help and tell me where I can find instructions on how to build
my own version of Eclipse from scratch? Is there any documentation available
that describes which packages I need to checkout from CVS and so on?

A fast search on Eclipse.org did not reveal very useful information.

Do you want to build each and every bit of Eclipse yourself,
or do you want to modify some parts of it and reuse the rest?

I'm asking, because we haven't setup the source build for Mac OS X (yet).
(Search for "Source Build" on the download page for a particular build, e.g. M7;
the link instructions explains how to do it for the other platforms).

Do you want to volunteer for creating a script/setup for Mac OS X? :-)
Here is the bug for this:

Thanks for the information. My primary intention was to get some insight
into Eclipse and how the parts work together. However, your information
is a good start. Thanks!

Besides, I just found the following link in a blog:

http://www.sourcebeat.com/TitleAction.do?id=2

It's new book about Eclipse and guess which OS was used for creating the
screenshots? ;-)

Great work!
