Is it right? I thought that this kind of interface originally was made
by Netscape!
Any explanation?
Apple chose not to comply with the Netscape defined OJI interface which
is how Netscape and Mozilla LiveConnect is implemented on other
platforms. Apple recently started supporting LiveConnect in Safari
there own way.
I believe, but I am not 100% sure, that the Java Embedding Plugin
<http://javaplugin.sourceforge.net/> which enables the use of Java 1.4
with Netscape and Mozilla on the Mac (without it, they are restricted
to 1.3) also makes LiveConnect work in those browsers as well. At
least there is some mention of LiveConnect in the release notes. Can
anyone else confirm this? I use the plugin everyday with no problems,
but I have not specifically tested to see if it enables LiveConnect.
