Re: Java 1.5 and tiger

Hi,

if you paid for ADC select membership you can test
latest Apple's Java 5 implementation
that release is in a pretty good shape (my opinion)
at least all our GUI applications run good enough.
but we do have problems with Java 5 implementation on Linux
so far our applications run much better on Macintosh (J2SE 5) and PC (Windows) (J2SE 5)
than on PC(Linux) (J2SE 5)

Our app crashes the VM while calling the print manager running under 1.4.2 on Linux. With Java 5, the PrintManager gets started, but nothing is printed on the paper. If you choose print to file, the generated Postscript File looks like the expected document - but for some reason the transfer of this document to the printer does not work.

Regards,

Cyrill
