Look for an "E:html" or "T:html" entry. I see those in my
com.apple.LaunchServices.plist. I also see entries for suffixes I've
registered for an app of my own creation.
I should also point out that ".html" is a suffix or extension, while
"http"
and "https" are protocol identifiers (or in URL terminology, a
scheme).
Thank you, Greg.
I can find only one entry with "E:" (E:prozs - where "prozs" is a
suffix for one of my self-developed apps), no one with "T:". Beginning
with "U:" there are some entries with different suffixes (i.e. zip,
jnlp) and protocol identifiers (afp, http, ftp, ...).
May it be helpfull, that you send me a copy of the entries in your
com.apple.LaunchServices.plist and I paste it in my corresponding
file?
Given that the dict entry contains an opaque data block,
I think copy and paste between different systems is just
asking for trouble. Comparing the two may be useful, but
I'd stick with the data block for the local system. Even
that might cause trouble -- it is only conjecture on my
part that all data blocks for a particular target app are
the same, based on a small number of observations where
they are identical.
If you are going to edit the file, make a backup copy first.
But check the URL that is failing to open using the Terminal
first, as it may not be a LaunchServices issue at all.
