I should also mention that the earlier citation for enabling Q2DX accel in Java doesn't seem to be specific to J2SE 5.0. Reading the Release Notes, it appears that it should work in 1.4.2 on 10.4 Tiger, too. It does, however, appear to require 10.4 Tiger.
