Re: CodeWarrior taking over Terminal

This is a question for any CodeWarrior users out there. When I launch
my application from CW, the Terminal app starts a new shell with the
specific Java command needed to launch app. However, I can't seem to
open a new Terminal window without launching my app. Any and all new
shells execute this java command--it's like Terminal is hardwired to
this one command. I can't seem to find anyway in Terminal or CW to turn
this behavior off. To get to a command line I have background my Java
app and then quit it. Any suggestions from the CW crowd(?) would be
appreciated.

Shoot. I had that happen to me once or twice long ago and can't remember exactly what I did to fix it. I know I was using tcsh (I think it was the default back then) and it might have been an older CW or some different settings that made it launch in a manner that sometimes got stuck like this. Anyway, you're not crazy, even though this is obviously a very rare problem.

I can't remember what the trouble was, but you should check a few things:

Look in your "~/.cshrc" file for leftover reference to a CW temp script.
Make sure your Terminal app preferences specify the default login shell.
^^ Or change Terminal app preferences to use a specific shell ( /bin/tcsh ) in case the login shell entry is goofed.

What OS X and CW versions are you using? I don't think I've seen this since 10.2 (maybe 10.1?) and I think a version ago for CW. Sorry I can't remember the details at this point, if I do I'll certainly let you know!
