I'm using Java Web Start for loading/starting some java applications
on OS/2-, Windows- and Mac OS X - clients.
On OS X 10.3.8 I cannot configure Jave Web Start like under WIN and
OS/2. Especially I need to tell Java Web Start which browser should
be used (i. e. error message from the java app: "no browser
configured").
Is there any config-file (like javaws.cfg under other operating
systems) where it is possible to add the missing parameters?
Apple does this a little differently. The Mac JWS implementation
uses the system default browser. Older versions of OS X had this
defined by a System Preference panel, but Panther (any some
Jaguar releases too, IIRC) moved it into Safari's preferences.
Yes, to make Firefox your default browser you use Safari's prefs!
WTHWTT!
