Ah, many thanks. That solved it. I had no idea that there were tooltips for XCode widgets.

I added the MANIFEST.MF file to the project, then referenced its relative path in the target window; and it worked like a charm.

I noticed that the file should not be added to the target, BTW, otherwise it gets added to the Contents/Resources/ directory as well, within the application package, where it serves no purpose.
