Re: anyone run eclipse on Mac, but really s-l-o-w?

Interesting... "just fine" would do if I never had the experience of the "other" side :-) In general, native apps perform pretty well, but using eclipse is downright painful at times. Does anyone tune their JVM params to alleviate things? e.g. I currently use -Xmx512m.

Yes, i do. But that's a touchy subject. I think you'll find a lot of
strong reactions from apple folks saying it's "just fine." I used to
use a windows machine with Eclipse and it IS much faster. The whole
user experience is just laggy, not nearly as responive.

Hi Folks, i'm running Eclipse 3.1.1 on my Powerbook 17" on Java 1.5.0rc1
(the "official" apple 1.5 release, not the DP's) and it's just really
slow: scrolling, editing, opening files, CVS operation, etc. I'm
comparing this to my user experience on Linux/Windows. Does anyone else
on mac/eclipse share my pain?

thanks
