Be aware that this may not be a good idea. Your computer may have multiple CPUs, but unless you're reading from a RAID or some other high end storage device, your disk probably only has one read head. If you try to read several files at once, that head is going to be jumping all over the place. That will be much slower than just reading and parsing the files one at a time.
