Mike,

I had a similar experience with code working everywhere all the time 
except for sporadic problems on my 
development computer - the problem it turned out was bad memory! This was 
first suggested to me by a tech at an Apple Developer event after the code 
worked just fine on their lab machines. I used memtext for OSX to discover 
the problem - replaced the chip (free) and that computer worked just great 
and consistently.
