Re: JBuilder 2005 & Java 1.5?

Hi,

I use JBuilder2005 Developer Edition with Mac OS X 10.4.3.

Because of this discussion i configurate my Mac so, that JDK 1.5 is the default JDK, change the plist.info and start the JBuilder.
Works fine. The default JDK is 1.5 and JBuilder runs under JDK 1.4.2. Everything works as expected.

So I think, this is a problem that depends on the installation on Michael's computer.

My be, there is no JDK 1.4 or something else.

This means that you are (somehow) running with the 1.5 peer code and the 1.4.2 jdk in the same process.

Looks like JBuilder is using a custom launcher. They don't appear to pay any attention to settings in the Info.plist (since, by default the Info.plist for JBuilder.app doesn't even have a java dictionary). They are probably trying to load Java directly through the CurrentJDK symlink, but the Java frameworks themselves are trying to pay attention to the Java Preferences settings; hence things get confused.

More information as it comes.
