Re: JBuilder 2005 & Java 1.5?

I posted this problem in the borland newsgroup.

One girl from TeamB, I think it was Lori, advise me, to add this

<key>JVMVersion</key>
<string>1.4*</string>

to the info.plist. This will make sure, that JBuilder use JDK 1.4, if installed, when started withou any dependency on the default jdk.

I've got that:

<dict>
<key>CFBundleDevelopmentRegion</key>
<string>English</string>
<key>CFBundleExecutable</key>
<string>JBuilder</string>
<key>CFBundleIconFile</key>
<string>JBuilder.icns</string>
<key>CFBundleIdentifier</key>
<string>com.borland.jbuilder</string>
<key>CFBundleInfoDictionaryVersion</key>
<string>6.0</string>
<key>CFBundleName</key>
<string>JBuilder</string>
<key>CFBundlePackageType</key>
<string>APPL</string>
<key>CFBundleShortVersionString</key>
<string>Borland JBuilder</string>
<key>CFBundleSignature</key>
<string>????</string>
<key>CFBundleVersion</key>
<string>0.1</string>
<key>CSResourcesFileMapped</key>
<true/>
<key>JVMVersion</key>
<string>1.4*</string>
</dict>
</plist>

Just to be sure, I reinstalled JBuilder 2005 and update 4, but, I still get the same error.

Since there seems to be some question as to what version of Java's being called, here are the contents of my Versions folder:

total 40
lrwxr-xr-x   1 root  wheel    5 Jan  2 21:14 1.3 -> 1.3.1
drwxr-xr-x   8 root  wheel  272 May  9  2005 1.3.1
lrwxr-xr-x   1 root  wheel    5 Sep 13 21:33 1.4 -> 1.4.2
drwxr-xr-x   8 root  wheel  272 Jan 26  2005 1.4.2
lrwxr-xr-x   1 root  wheel    5 Jan  2 21:14 1.5 -> 1.5.0
drwxr-xr-x   8 root  wheel  272 May  9  2005 1.5.0
drwxr-xr-x   6 root  wheel  204 Jan  2 21:14 A
lrwxr-xr-x   1 root  wheel    1 Jan  2 21:14 Current -> A
lrwxr-xr-x   1 root  wheel    5 Jan  2 21:14 CurrentJDK -> 1.5.0

I called Borland's tech support, but the person I talked to -- who I don't think had much experience wtih JBuilder on the Mac -- he kept muttering about non-standards  --  couldn't help.

My plan at this point is to buy something big from the Apple Store on Tuesday, and see if I can appease the appropriate gods in that fashion :-)
