So here is my request to Apple for getting behind Cocoa Java and especially Core API access from Java.
We have the tools to do such bridging ourselves (JNI). To me it sounds
like a prefect opportunity for the community to develop and maintain
Java objects that wrap/expose core Mac OS X APIs... perfect use of an
open source project.
In fact in the past I had started to write a family of classes that
exposed the capabilities of vImage to Java API but because my
employment and needs changed it has been long since mothballed.
If you note various other Objective-C language bridges are mostly
maintain by a community of folks outside of Apple with Apple
leveraging that work by including aspect in developer tools and/or
operating system.
In other words if you want it ... make it happen.
