"Most popular being used" - I think you meant "for Mac OS developers" :-) AFAIK Java is steadily the most used programming language in the world, while Objective C is below the 40th place.

All that list tells me is that most job listings and resumes refer to "Cocoa programmers", not "Objective-C programmers". I just don't find it plausible that Objective-C is used only marginally more than Haskell. People using Objective-C without Cocoa, yeah, that I'd believe could be #40... basically just the GNUstep folks.

As for Java bridging, I would imagine that the availability now of Objective-C++ would make a JNI approach easier.
