Apple's Objective-C/C++ isn't preprocessor based, it is natively compiled by gcc and has a robust runtime.

Not exactly what I meant (sorry if it came over as an unintended slur). The basis of Objective-C is as a preprocessor to put Smalltalk facilities in C. Thus you have all these weird nested [[[[a... ] b... ] c... ]] calls for what would otherwise have just been a string of words in Smalltalk or a.b.c in most other OO languages.


You also still have #import (and #include, #define). Thus I'm talking about the basis of the language being preprocessor-based, not necessarily the implementation (which sure is native code and robust).
