Preferences ,when it isnt a .plist file but my own preferences format
Well, from my perspective, both as a developer and a user, my
expectation is that preferences, regardless of format, belong in ~/
<user>/Library/Preferences. If the license is part of the preference
file, then that's the place. If the license file is separate, a
clearly named license file (eg. com.foo.appname.License) in the
Preferences dir is preferable to putting it anywhere else.
