UseQuartz for Applets?

Hi,

I am trying to tell an applet to render with Quartz on the Mac. I added the following line to the Constructor of the applet as the first instruction:

        System.setProperty("apple.awt.graphics.UseQuartz", "true");

However, it does not care. It still uses the (horrible) Sun renderer.

Any hints?
