Is it possible to uninstall Java Release 6?

Not only does it break drag-and-drop for me, it breaks debugging from Eclipse:

ERROR: transport library not found: dt_socket ["transport.c",L173]

ERROR: JDWP Transport dt_socket failed to initialize, TRANSPORT_LOAD(509) ["debugInit.c",L500]

JDWP exit error JVMTI_ERROR_INTERNAL(113): No transports initialized

FATAL ERROR in native method: JDWP No transports initialized, jvmtiError=JVMTI_ERROR_INTERNAL(113)
