Re: Installers for Java Apps



We've dropped Java Web Start because of massive problems on the Mac. For instance, it did not place the menu bar on the top of the screen - no matter where we set the option (in our application or the Info.plist file).

Even on Windows, icons generated by Java Web Start on the desktop looked horrible, just like the German Webstart dialogs.

Very easy to use, works on MacOS, Windows, Linux and of course Solaris error free.
With web start you also get auto updates for free.
